Hairdressing is Greenbank College’s newest department, with a purpose built salon – Salon HQ completed in February this year.
Julie Jarvis and Carol Hasaballa are responsible for teaching Level 1 Certificate in Hairdressing and Barbering and Level 2 Diploma in Hairdressing. Julie has worked in hairdressing for 24 years and started her teaching career in 2006 at Michael John of Liverpool Hair and Beauty College. Carol has 33 years hairdressing experience, owns her own salon and has been taught at colleges in Liverpool, Runcorn and Halton since 1991.
The first learners have really enjoyed their time at Greenbank College; Level 2 learner Sophie Bickerstaff said “All staff and learners work as a team to help you get your NVQ. We have a lot of experience

Learner success – Adam Rawlinson
Wednesday, November 2nd, 2011
Congratulations to former Greenbank College learner Adam Rawlinson who achieved a first in BSc IT & Multimedia Computing from Liverpool John Moores University this summer. Adam who was in the IT department at College from 2006 until 2008 said of his experience at Greenbank “I really enjoyed my time at Greenbank, not only did the courses I completed as a student give me a fantastic understanding of IT which prepared me to go on and successfully complete my degree, I also found that the atmosphere and staff at Greenbank to be extremely friendly and supportive. Without the extra support that I received from the staff I wouldn’t have been able to improve and develop my skills as well as I did, which enabled me to further my education and job prospects.”
Adam has recently volunteered in the marketing department, taking photographs of the artworks for sale in the forthcoming Charity Art Auction as his way of ‘giving something back’.
