Careers advice

Greenbank College’s Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) service helps people make clear, informed choices about career and learning opportunities.

The free service enables clients to access a one-to-one interview with an experienced and qualified Guidance Officer. Clients are assisted in creating an action plan, focusing on achieving short and long term goals. The service is Matrix accredited and has a contract with the National Careers Service – the national adult careers service. Information, Advice and Guidance includes access to:

  • Comprehensive and current information on learning opportunities and training providers.
  • Entry requirements, assessment and accreditation information.
  • Referrals for in-learning benefits advice.
  • Careers and occupational information and software.
  • Support in writing or updating a CV.
  • Job search support.
  • Advice on completing application forms.
  • Mock interviews.

All learners who want to access courses will have a one-to-one guidance appointment before enrolment.

Once enrolled, learners can access IAG services at any point.

National Careers Service guidance services are also available to non-learners aged 19+ who wish to access learning and work.
