Who is the course for?

Hairdressing is a ‘people profession’ about being creative and innovative. It is fun and rewarding, as well as hard work! There are many avenues open to you in terms of career and this qualification is a highly successful method of gaining your Level 2, with good attendance and commitment this can be achieved.

Assessment method

To gain this qualification you will need to show plenty of evidence that you have undertaken each unit.  It is a practical qualification, so each student gets through grounding in all the skill areas by a qualified tutor who will assess you using some of the following methods:

  • Observations
  • Oral questions
  • Written questions
  • Mandatory written paper

Entry requirements

For students with fewer than five GCSEs grades A*-C, or an equivalent qualification at Level 1. The course requires a degree of personal commitment and the ability to work as part of a team. Students must be working towards or have achieved Level 1 in English and maths and have gained qualifications in Level 1 Hairdressing.

Future opportunities / career options

Your qualification will give you the basic elements that you need to help you become a qualified hair stylist and you can progress to further levels such as our Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing or employment within the industry.
