Course content

  • Produce a collection of samples demonstrating a range of basic garment techniques
  • Produce a basic garment following a simple commercial pattern

Who is the course for?

Students with a basic knowledge of sewing and an interest in learning how to make garments.

Entry requirements

An understanding of basic sewing techniques and workroom equipment. An ability to work safely and follow instructions.

Assessment Method

No formal assessment. Ongoing verbal and written tutor feedback across the duration of the course.

Progression to Basic Garment Making course in Term 2.

When is the course run?

Monday 1 – 4pm starting Monday 11 September 2017 – 12 weeks
Thursday 9am – 12 noon starting Thursday 14 September 2017 – 13 weeks

How much does the course cost?

Monday £36; Thursday £39 – See Money Matters for fee exemptions.

A registration and material fee of £20 is also payable by everyone.

Fees must be paid on time. Failure to pay on time will result in a £10 late payment charge.
