The Sport and Recreation industry covers sports provision from grass roots community projects through to professional level. It also includes the day-to-day running of amateur and professional sports clubs and the promotion of an active and healthy lifestyle.

To be successful you need to be enthusiastic about sport, have great communication and leadership skills and love working as part of a team.

In higher level job roles you will also need strong organisational skills and the ability to manage projects and budgets.

If you are studying a Sports Coaching & Development course you will be benefit from the superb sports facilities, including gym and sports hall available at Greenbank Sports Academy. For most courses it is a requirement that you complete voluntary hours or a work placement to demonstrate a practical understanding of your subject. These can be completed at the Sports Academy or externally.
