Creative Techniques Certificate in Textiles Level 1
Course content
2 design units and 2 craft units must be completed for the achievement of a full certificate:
- Design
- Sampling – Design Ideas
- Textile Decoration
- Felt making
Who is the course for?
Beginners who want to learn the basics of design, explore different textile decoration techniques and create a collection of simple decorative textiles.
Assessment method
Continuous assessment of practical work across the course and a formal assessment of each individual unit on completion.
Entry requirements
Functional Skills in English and Maths at Entry Level 3 or above.
Future opportunities / career options
Progression to more advanced non accredited leisure courses or to City & Guilds Level 2 Textiles course.
When the course is run?
Daytime, 3 hours per week 36 weeks per year.
How much does it cost?
Learners under the age of 18 are exempt from paying course fees.
For learners aged 18 plus, the cost of the course is £400. However, there are some exemptions. Please visit the Money Matters page for further details.
