Course content
2 design units & 2 craft units must be completed for the achievement of a full certificate
- Design
- Sampling – Exploring Potential of Ideas and Materials
- Textile Decoration – Added Colour (Dyeing techniques)
- Textile Decoration – Added Pattern (Printing Techniques)
Who is the course for?
Those who wish to gain a qualification whilst learning about all aspects of design – from research, exploring dyeing and printing techniques, through to the planning and creation of original decorative textiles.
Assessment method
Continuous assessment of practical work across the course and a formal assessment of each individual unit on completion.
Entry requirements
Functional Skills in English and Maths at Level 1 or above.
Future opportunities / career options
Non accredited advanced courses. A good preparatory course for Level 3 or equivalent.

Daytime,1 day per week, Spring and Summer term 2012.
