Introduction to the Internet

• How is the internet used?
• Connecting to the internet: (Broadband providers-what are they offering me)
• Google: Setting Google as your home page
• Browser basics: Using Google to find information
• Search engines and strategies: Getting the best results from your searches.
• Google services: Learning about Google tools (Google Translate – Google Maps etc.)

Introduction to email

• Email: Setting up your own email account
• Using email: Sending, receiving, saving and deleting emails
• Sending items with an email: Attaching a document, picture or file to an email

Who is the course for?

This course is for anyone new to the Internet.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements. You will need to be able to use the mouse, keyboard and windows software.

3 sessions: Tue 24 Apr, Tue 1 and Tue 8 May – 1-4pm
