Susansusan_haniford_photo_web Haniford is known at Greenbank College as an English Tutor, but away from work she is a talented writer and competition winner, with published short stories and poetry.

Her most notable success was achieved in 2010 when her short story; ‘In the Land of the Disappeared’ was published in the anthology ‘Mosaic’ after entering a Bridge House Publishing Short Story Competition.

Susan said of her interest in writing:

“I’ve always enjoyed it and loved English Language at school. I had my first poem published at the age of eleven and my interest developed from there really. My inspiration is usually to find the extraordinary in something ordinary. “

After a five year break, Susan has recently returned to writing by entering Writing on the Wall’s Pulp Idol competition. She is also working on her first novel.
