Sessional Music Teacher

Hours: 1-2.20 pm Wednesdays during term time

Pay: Sessional fee of £30

Location: Greenbank College

Reporting to: Education Manager

Supervisory responsibility: None

Main purpose of the job:

To deliver ukulele sessions to a small group of college students in a fun activity session of 1 hour and 20 minutes duration

Summary of duties and responsibilities:

  1. To organise a weekly music session
  2. To support students learning to play the ukulele
  3. To research and provide music
  4. To provide regular feedback on the session
  5. To abide by health and safety, equal opportunities and other policies and undertake training as required
  6. There is a possibility of moving forward with other instruments

Person Specification

Essential requirements:

  1. Able to support a small group of young people
  2. Good understanding of music and an ability to teach the ukulele
  3. Flexible approach to tasks undertaken
  4. Basic understanding of health & safety

Desirable requirements:

  1. Previous experience working with disabled people
