Introduction to Garment Making – Simple Trousers

Course content

Learners will be taught basic garment making techniques including how to follow a commercial pattern, lay planning, cutting and sampling methods of construction. The final project will involve the making of a pair of simple trousers or pyjama bottoms.

Who is the course for?

Those with a basic working knowledge of the use of a sewing machine. An ideal progression for those completing the ‘Introduction to the Sewing Machine’ course.

Assessment method

No formal assessment.

Entry requirements

A basic safe working knowledge of the sewing machine.

Future opportunities / career options

Progression to ‘Introduction to garment making – skirt’.
