This week’s it has been the United Nations’ (UN) International Day of Persons with Disabilities (Tuesday 3rd December to be precise!) and we are currently in the middle of the UK’s Disability History Month which runs from the 22nd November to the 22nd December, so what better time would there be for our Pass It On Community Reporters to do a series of reports on disability awareness? This week we tasked our team of reporters with producing a series of video interviews that shone a spotlight on the issues that people with disabilities (both physical and learning) face and how society perceives and responds to disability. The beneath engaging and thought-provoking interviews are what they produced…

Life With a Disability

Pass It On Community Reporters Alice and Amber joined forces to create this personal interview with Learning Support Mentor – Charles about his life with a disability. In the interview Charles discusses society’s perceptions of people with a disability and the positive activities out there that disabled people can get involved in.

Life With Autism

One of our reporters – Jordan – has given this frank and to the point interview about his life with autism. The report was filmed and edited with two of our other reporters, Ian and Nicole. In the report Jordan talks about when he found out he was autistic and how being autistic has affected him.

Let’s Talk About Autism

In this report two of our Pass It On Reporters, Leah and Liam, have a chat about life with autism. In this report the duo discuss media representations of people with autism and how being autistic may affect how they respond in social situations.
