Who is the course for?

The course is suitable for learners who are, or will be food handlers working in the catering industry. It enables learners to identify how to make changes to catering practices to improve the safety of catering services.

Assessment method

  • Online assessment with 10-15 questions per module. 100% pass rate required.

Entry requirements

Functional Skills in English and Maths at Level 1 or above. A basic knowledge of computers.

Future opportunities / career options

Progression is to Level 3 Advanced Food Safety.

When the course is run?

Flexible – 9 hours study time required. 36 weeks per year.

How much does it cost?

Learners under the age of 18 are exempt from paying course fees.
For learners aged 18 plus, the cost of the course is £40. However, there are some exemptions. Please visit the Money Matters page for further details.
