Getting to know the parts of a computer

• Switching on a Computer and shutting it down safety: What button to press and what procedures to follow
• Mouse: how it works
• Keyboard: Learn your way around the different parts of a computer keyboard
• What is it I’m seeing on screen: Getting to know what you are looking at and what it means
• Type your first letter: Using the skills learnt so far type a letter
• Save / Delete / Recover:  Learn how to save your work, learn how to find it again, learn how to delete stuff that you no longer need or want, once deleted learn how to recover the stuff you deleted. (Yes you might be able to get it back)
• Make it look like it’s yours: Learn how to set up a computer just for you
• Jargon Busting: Questions answered. Ask as many questions as often as you like.

Who is the course for?

Anyone who hasn’t used a computer before. This course is not suitable for people who can use a computer it is aimed at complete beginners.
