Course content
Learners complete tasks including:
- Calculations with whole numbers and negative numbers
- Calculations with fractions, decimals and percentages in practical situations
- Using ratio, including scale drawing
- Use formulae to resolve problems
- Measurements, including converting between metric units and imperial units
- Calculations of perimeter, area and volume of compound shapes
- Handling data, including line graphs, scatter graphs and pie charts
- Statistics: mean, mode median and range
- Chance of events happening expressed as a fraction, decimal or percentage
Who is the course for?
This course is suitable for learners who:
- Have achieved Level 1 Functional Skills
- Are taking a vocational course for which maths is needed
- Would like to brush up on their GCSE maths skills in order to start a vocational programme
