Approximately 15 students from the Sewing and Textiles Department gave up their time during the summer break, to make 200 syringe driver / drip bags, using material supplied free of charge by Lancaster based Standfast and Barracks. These will be donated to local cancer units.
Students from the department have been using their sewing skills to make the bags and help local patients for the past five years.
Tutor Colette Dwyer said “It’s great that we can use our skills to make something of practical use to people at a very difficult time. It is a very personal gesture of help and each bag contains a message from the person that made it. We hope to continue to offer this practical service for many years to come.
We always welcome donations of fabric and are very grateful to Standfast and Barracks for helping us.”
