Congratulations to our students; Daniel Fawcett and Alice Kelly who were given awards at a special ceremony, held at Alder Hey Hospital, to mark Volunteer’s Week 2016 and recognise the valuable contribution made by its volunteers.
Daniel and Alice were introduced to Alder Hey by Tom Waddell, Placement Officer at Greenbank College and he commented:
“College is not just about gaining the relevant qualifications for the world work but also preparing students to face the challenges that come with it. I firmly believe that our partnership with Alder Hey and the opportunities that they provide, through their volunteering programme, helps us to achieve this.
I’m delighted that Daniel and Alice have been recognised for their contribution to the work of Alder Hey Hospital.”
Daniel was recognised (with 2 others) as ‘Most Committed Volunteer’.
Alice who received her award as ‘Most Developed Volunteer’ said:
“I feel really proud of what I have achieved.”
Jenny Fathers from the Patient Experience and Volunteer Support Department added:
“Daniel and Alice are fantastic role models and their awards are well deserved.”
