Children in Need 2016 Cake Sale by Catering StudentsOur Catering and Hospitality students have done their thing for Children in Need and with the help of tutor Judith Jenkins have organised a Bake Sale to raise pounds for Pudsey!

Treats on offer to the College staff and students included jam and cream sponge cake, coffee cake, Pudsey cupcakes, chocolate chip shortbread, sausage rolls, spotty iced cupcakes – who could resist?

Tutor Judith Jenkins thinks that involvement in events like Children in Need provide a valuable addition to the curriculum for her students:

“Children in Need is such a big national fundraising event and one that all of my students can feel a part of by organising their own bake sale.

There’s a real sense of satisfaction in using their baking skills to raise money for such a good cause.

Everyone has worked so well together – the only job that they weren’t so keen on was the washing-up!!

They should all feel really proud of their contribution.”

A total of £101.50 was raised for Children in Need.
