Leah Cameron - Health & Social Care Student

by Leah Cameron

I came to Greenbank College straight from Bank View School a couple of years ago. Since then I’ve studied a number of different subjects; Fashion and Textiles, Maths and English, Employability and Health and Social Care.

I’m really enjoying the Health and Social Care course – staring at Level 1, currently studying Level 2 and fingers crossed, next year it will be Level 3. It hasn’t been easy – I find essay writing difficult but my tutor is really supportive and I know that with her help, I’ll get there.

The course has taught me that everyone is different and that it’s important to respect individual needs.

I’ve had the chance to put my skills into practice, doing a six week placement at ‘Job Bank’ to support disabled people in the work place.

Eventually I want to work in Child Protection; I need to finish my qualification next year and after that I will try to get a job.

Greenbank College is like a family – everyone knows everyone and supports one another.
