Our Exploring Art & Design Techniques students received praise from Charlene Gallery, Senior Lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University after her visit in November 2017 when she set them a Wallpaper Design brief.
Charlene said:
“May I take this opportunity to thank you wholeheartedly for inviting me to work with your students. Rarely do we, as lecturers, get to venture into other educational providers, so it was extremely enjoyable to spend the day working with you and your students. I found your students to be so welcoming and the work they produced that day was highly creative and, in my opinion, very professional, so much so that I took the privilege of showing your students creative outcomes to my colleagues Jamie Huckbody, international editor of Harper’s Bazaar magazine, and Beverly Stout, senior lecturer and lead in fashion textiles, who were both extremely impressed with the work and feel your students have demonstrated great potential in the area of surface pattern and print textiles.
I would love to work with you and your lovely students again in the near future and you are all more than welcome to come and visit us at the Sheffield Institute of the Arts at any time.”
All of the students involved have received their design printed on fabric and Jen Lewis’ design was selected as the winner.
