This is a Skills Builder course which is designed to help develop your confidence to enable you to move onto an accredited course as well as independence, confidence and skills for daily living.

Course content

Arts Award Discover is a basic introductory course with no qualification attached. To achieve an Arts Award Discover, young people collect evidence in an individual arts log of their experiences of – taking part in arts activities; researching artists or craftspeople and their work; sharing their arts discoveries.

Arts Award Explore at Entry 3 follows this introduction. Students collect evidence in an individual arts log of their experiences of: taking part in a range of arts activities, including a personal response about what has inspired them about taking part; the work of artists and craftspeople and arts organisations; creating a piece of art work & sharing what they have enjoyed and/or achieved with others.

Who is the course for?

  • People aged 16 – 18
  • People aged up to 24 who declare a disability and have an EHC Plan

  • An interest in The Arts

Progression

When is the course run?

September 2019

Study Programme

If you are aged 16 – 18 or up to 24 who declare a disability and have an EHC Plan, this course will form part of your study programme. The programme also includes English and maths qualifications, employability skills, a work placement and other personal development and enrichment opportunities.

Course fees

Courses are free for all students aged 16 – 18 (or up to 24 if you declare a disability and have an Education, Health & Care Plan).
