This is a Skills Builder course which is designed to help develop your confidence to enable you to move onto an accredited course as well as independence, confidence and skills for daily living.

Course content

Explore basic skills in art and design in preparation for an accredited course at Entry 3 starting in term 2.

Who is the course for?

  • People aged 16 – 18
  • People aged up to 24 who declare a disability and have an EHC Plan
  • Students wishing to develop some basic art and craft skills on a short one term introductory course that prepares them for an accredited Entry 3 course in terms 2 & 3.

Entry requirements

  • No previous experience in art and craft required – but students should demonstrate an interest in the subject.
  • Basic English and maths skills


Progression to an accredited qualification at Entry 3 Level in terms 2 and 3.

When is the course run?

September 2019

Study Programme

If you are aged 16 – 18 or up to 24 who declare a disability and have an EHC Plan, this course will form part of your study programme. The programme also includes English and maths qualifications, employability skills, a work placement and other personal development and enrichment opportunities.

Course fees

Courses are free for all students aged 16 – 18 (or up to 24 if you declare a disability and have an Education, Health & Care Plan).
