Course content

The Level 1 Creative Craft Course will help develop your basic skills in craft and provide you with underpinning knowledge of the craft process.

You will learn the basics of design including how to research ideas, use tools and materials for art and textile decoration projects and then develop ideas to create a final item.

Your progress on the course will be assessed throughout the course this will include completing assignments and course units.

  • Explore craft ideas
  • Create, present and review final art /craft item

Who is the course for?

  • People aged 16 – 18
  • People aged up to 24 who declare a disability and have an EHC Plan
  • People aged 19+

Entry requirements

  • Entry 3 Creative qualification, or an introductory course in art and design in Term 1 or be able to demonstrate an ability to work at level
  • Basic English & maths skills

Progression

  • Level 2 Creative Craft Certificate

When does the course run?

January 2020

Study Programme

If you are aged 16 – 18 or up to 24 who declare a disability and have an EHC Plan, this course will form part of your study programme. The programme also includes English and maths qualifications, employability skills, a work placement and other personal development and enrichment opportunities.

Course Fees

Courses are free for all students aged 16 – 18 (or up to 24 if you declare a disability and have an Education, Health & Care Plan).

For people aged 19+ the course fee is £585. You may be eligible for fee remission. See Money Matters for details.
