What is the aim of the course?

To improve employment prospects.

Who is this course for?

  • Liverpool adults aged 19 or above who declare a mild or moderate learning difficulty and/or disability.
  • Unemployed adults, those on limited contracts or at risk of redundancy.

Prior qualifications needed for this course


Before I start the course I must be able to:

Gather your record of prior qualifications and/or work history.

Is there a follow on course I can take once I have finished?

Other employability or work-related courses.

What would a typical session look like?

  • Personalised assessment of own CV and further development of it.
  • Explore job application processes and make applications.
  • Take part in mock interviews.

How will I know that I am progressing?

Each learner will have a Personal Progress Diary which he or she will update briefly during each session. In addition to this, your tutor will give you regular updates on your progress both verbally and in written feedback.

At the end of the course you will have a better understanding of the following objectives:

  • Clearer understanding of how to present information on a CV.
  • The sort of jobs available locally and application methods.
  • Shortlist, interview and selection processes.
  • Differing kinds of interviews.
