Course content

The Entry Level 3 Skills for Sport and Active Leisure qualification provides a range of basic, introductory skills, as well as core knowledge required in order to work in the sector.

You will be assessed in a variety of ways including observation in work placement activities and simulated situations, evaluations, presentations, task sheet completion, risk assessment completions as well as question and answer sessions.

  • Recognising sport and leisure opportunities
  • Risks and hazards in sport and active leisure
  • Using numeracy skills in the workplace
  • Effective communication in the workplace
  • Assessing own personal learning and thinking skills

Who is the course for?

  • People aged 16 – 18
  • People aged up to 24 who declare a disability and have an EHC Plan

Entry requirements

  • English and Maths at Entry level 2 or above

Progression

  • Level 1 Award or Certificate in Skills for Sport and Active Leisure
  • Entry level employment role such as Assistant Sports Leader or Leisure Attendant

Study Programme

If you are aged 16 – 18 or up to 24 who declare a disability and have an EHC Plan, this course will form part of your study programme. The programme also includes English and maths qualifications, employability skills, a work placement and other personal development and enrichment opportunities.

Course Fees

Courses are free for all students aged 16 – 18 (or up to 24 if you declare a disability and have an Education, Health & Care Plan).
