Health and Social Care

The Health and Social Care industry refers to both public and private sector organisations. Health providers include GP surgeries, hospitals and hospices. Social Care providers include residential care homes, day centres and child day care.

All roles require you to enjoy helping people and to want to make a difference to the lives of others.

There is an increasing demand for care workers to help people undertake their daily activities. Help could include washing, cooking or help with paperwork, it could also be more personal such as dressing and giving medication. You could choose to work with disabled adults, children or older people.

Possible job roles available after gaining a Health and Social Care qualification include:

  • Senior Care Worker
  • Care Home Manager
