Course content

  • Use computer hardware
  • Use software and applications for a purpose, to create a poster or a leaflet
  • Keep access information secure by using passwords
  • Understand the need to stay safe

Progress on course is assessed with a paper based test which will cover all topics.

Who is the course for?

  • People aged 16 – 18
  • People aged up to 24 who declare a disability and have an EHC Plan
  • Someone who is taking a vocational course for which ICT is needed
  • Someone who would like to progress toward a vocational programme like ITQ
  • Adults involved in a learning programme to prepare them for work

Entry requirements

To start on this course you need to show at initial assessment that this is a suitable level for your current skills or have completed Entry 1 in ICT.

Study Programme

If you are aged 16 – 18 or up to 24 who declare a disability and have an EHC Plan, this course will form part of your study programme. The programme also includes English and maths qualifications, employability skills, a work placement and other personal development and enrichment opportunities.

Course Fees

Courses are free for all students aged 16 – 18 (or up to 24 if you declare a disability and have an Education, Health & Care Plan).
