Course content

iTQ is modular with units covering everything from making the best use of technology in business systems to communication with colleagues and customers. The flexible iTQ at Level 1 is available in award size with a wide variety of units to choose from.

Students can choose a minimum of 3 of the following units and must achieve a minimum of 9 credits:

  • Graphic Design Software
  • Audio Software
  • Website Design
  • Presentation Software
  • DVD Interface Software

Who is the course for?

People aged 16 – 18

People aged up to 24 who declare a disability and have an EHC Plan

Adults aged 19+

Assessment method

All units will be internally assessed by course tutors and externally moderated by BTEC Examiner-moderators.

Entry requirements

All prospective students will undertake an initial assessment to ensure they have basic computer knowledge. Students should have gained or be working towards recognised qualifications in English and Maths at Entry 3.

Future opportunities / career options

Progression onto iTQ Level 2 Certificate/ Diploma or L1 Award in Social Media

Course Fees

Courses are free for all students aged 16 – 18 (or up to 24 if you declare a disability and have an Education, Health & Care Plan).

For people aged 19+ the course fee is £450. You may be eligible for fee remission. See Money Matters for details.
