Level 1 Certificate in IT & Digital Skills
The Level 1 IT course will help you to improve your ability to use a range of IT applications and computer skills that are regularly used in an office-based role to produce documents, spreadsheets and presentations. You will also learn about using email and IT security.
What will I study?
You can choose a minimum of 3 of the following units and must achieve a minimum of 9 credits:
- Database Software
- IT Security for Users
- Presentation Software
- Spreadsheet Software
- Word Processing Software
- Using Email and the Internet
Who is the course for?
- People aged 16 – 18
- People aged up to 24 who declare a disability and have an EHC Plan
- 19+
What are the entry requirements?
All prospective students will undertake an initial assessment to ensure they have basic computer knowledge. Students should have gained or be working towards recognised qualifications in English and Maths at Entry 3.
How will I be assessed?
All units will be internally assessed by course tutors and externally moderated by BTEC Examiner-moderators.
What could I progress to?
After you have achieved the Level 1 IT qualification, you could progress to:
- Level 2 IT course
- Traineeships
- Apprenticeship
- Employment / volunteering
