Level 2 Extended Diploma in IT

This advanced Level 2 IT course will teach you the fundamental skills and knowledge required to work in an IT based role. The flexible Level 2 course is available at certificate level, studied over 1 year, or the diploma, which is studied over 2 years. Your skills will also be developed by taking on a work placement.

Who is the course for?

  • People aged 16 – 18
  • People aged up to 24 who declare a disability and have an EHC Plan
  • 19+

What are the entry requirements?

  • Level 1 ITQ Award or Certificate or good computer knowledge.
  • Gained or be working towards recognised qualifications in English and maths at Level 1.

How will I be assessed?

Throughout the course you will be assessed to check on your progress. This will include producing a work portfolio showing the skills you have learnt.

What could I progress to?

After you have achieved the Level 2 IT qualification, you could progress to:

  • Level 3 course
  • Traineeships
  • Apprenticeship
  • Employment / volunteering
