Ascentis Entry Level 1 is a stepping stone qualification and is aimed at learners who may have gained an Entry Level 3 qualification but may need some additional time to develop their mathematical skills before moving up to the next level.

Assessment method

Each module is assessed by test paper. These are marked by the tutor and if a pass grade is achieved will count as a credit towards the Level One Award (3 credits), the Level One Extended Award (6 credits) or the Level One Certificate (13 credits).

Entry requirements

A BKSB assessment which indicates that the learner is capable of working comfortably at this level or an Entry Level 3 qualification from an awarding body such as City and Guilds.

Future opportunities / career options

This qualification will enable learners to progress to a full Level 1 and then onto Level 2 and GCSE. The range of mathematical skills achieved will provide numeracy skills which are required in the workplace.
