Sport and Active Leisure
The UK sport and recreation industry covers the delivery of sporting activities to groups and the promotion of an active and healthy lifestyle.
Providing inclusive opportunities to people of all abilities is one of the core missions of Greenbank and so we encourage this through the courses we have on offer. You will gain an understanding of inclusive sport and how a variety of sports can be adapted for people of all abilities.
To be successful you need to be enthusiastic about sport, have an interest in health and fitness with a good level of personal fitness, enjoy meeting a wide range of people, be enthusiastic, responsible, organised and be able to motivate others.
Possible job roles available after gaining a Sport and Active Leisure qualification include:
- Inclusive Sports Assistant
- Recreation Assistant
- Leisure Attendant
- Gym Assistant
Whilst learning on one of our Sport and Active Leisure courses, you will be benefit from the superb inclusive sports facilities available at Greenbank Sports Academy.
For all courses it is a requirement that you complete voluntary hours or a work placement to demonstrate a practical understanding of your subject. These can be completed at the Sports Academy or externally.
