Exploring equality and diversity

  • Key definitions of Equality and Diversity
  • Own situation and local environments
  • Stereotyping and labelling
  • Prejudice and discrimination
  • Threats to equality and diversity in the community
  • Threats to equality and diversity in the workplace

Working or learning in a place that promotes diversity

  • Creating and maintaining equality and diversity in the workplace
  • Promoting equality and diversity
  • Codes of practice and conduct
  • Expectations of staff concerning equality and diversity

Who is the course for?

Learners who want to develop their knowledge and understanding of equality and diversity. The course may be used as part of Continuing Professional Development in the workplace.

Assessment method

Completion of a handwritten work book which is submitted for assessment.

Entry requirements

Level 1 English

When is the course run?

There will be a workshop on Wednesday 5 June where you will complete the majority of the work. A small amount of work may be required outside of the workshop.

Distance learning is also available so you can study at your own pace (within an agreed timescale).

How much does it cost?

This course is free.

A fee of £100.00 will apply if you do not complete the course by an agreed date or if you withdraw from the course.
