Fashion and Textiles department work with Sudley House

Greenbank College has run a Victorian Inspirations course throughout the Autumn Term which gave sewing and textiles learners the opportunity to visit Sudley House, Mossley Hill.
Here they were met by curator Simon Breedon who discussed ideas for Victorian themed Christmas decorations as well as the embroidered / printed products for display in the house.
The following items have now been produced by staff and learners:
- Christmas Decorations for the house including Christmas Stockings for the fireplaces, fabric bunting for the tree and staircase, paper tree decorations and wreaths with a Victorian theme. These are on display at Sudley over the festive season.
- A 14ft long table runner featuring embroidery / applique techniques, 5 cushion covers and 3 printed panels, which will be on display early in 2013.
Thanks to all those involved who have worked so hard to produce these items, in particular to tutors Colette Dwyer and Ildi Szabo. Tutors are also offering activities at Sudley House on Saturday 15th December from 1-4pm.
Come along and make your own Victorian inspired Christmas cards and decorations. This is a free event and all ages are welcome.
We currently have vacancies for our accredited and non-accredited fashion and textiles courses that start in January.
