Fixing it in Post!

This week’s Pass It On Community Reporters session has been on the topic of video editing. The group have learned how to use Windows Live MovieMaker to edit together the video interviews they shot last week. The video interviews are on the topic of ‘favourite books’ and will be blogged on this site on World Book Day (5th March 2015).
The group learned how to split and trim video files to edit out mistakes and the interviewer’s questions, how to add titles, captions and credits, and how to add transitions to their videos. The whole group kept their focus throughout the session, paying close attention to detail with their editing decisions.
Although it took a lot of skills to whip the interviews into shape, the group did an excellent job. One reporter said that they have “really enjoyed” the session and another said that they “could now edit out mistakes in videos”. At the end of the session the group watched back their video interviews and they were all made up with what they achieved. Next week, the reporters will be using all of the skills they have learned on the course so far to produce a multimedia report…exciting stuff!!!
