Congratulations to our Hairdressing students and their tutors and Beauty students and staff from Blackburne House, who staged a spectacular Hair and Beauty Show at the Museum of Liverpool on 19th June.

Everyone worked incredibly hard to ensure that their models looked fabulous. Students were responsible for costumes as well as hair and the end results were amazing.

Entry students followed a ‘Disney’ theme and this category was won by Rebecca Rapson for her interpretation of Elsa.

The Level 1 students were given the theme of ‘countries’. Raphina Louis took first prize for her model’s representation of Pakistan. Raphina also made the costume.

Finally, Level 2 student Lyn Wilkinson won her category, which was ‘Seasons’. Lyn’s model was a very frosty looking Ice Queen, representing winter.

Tutor Beverley Mellor said:

“Well done to all of the students involved – everyone has worked so hard – and it shows. We have lots of talented students and the performance offered a great opportunity for people to show off their skills and creativity.

Hopefully the show will encourage people to come into Salon HQ to try our services, or even enrol as a student. We still have a few places left for courses starting in September.”

Marketing Manager, Elizabeth Brocklehurst added:

“It was a spectacular event, in a great venue. Thanks to the Museum of Liverpool for letting Greenbank College use such a fabulous space – it made it extra special for everyone involved.”
