Greenbank College student Shauna Hogan is a keen, competitive swimmer. Recently she told the Pass It On community reporters that she likes swimming because it keeps her fit and healthy.
Shauna has been swimming since she was four years old and she learned to swim at Calderstones school. She now trains at Picton Sports Centre every Wednesday. She said that Picton pool is a nice place and that the staff are helpful.
When training, Shauna swims the full length of the pool in all of the lanes. Training is important for Shauna because she enters competitions as a member of the GB Special Swimmers team. She has won a lot of races, medals and awards.
Recently, Shauna was mentioned in the Liverpool Echo because she is considered one of Merseyside’s most influential women. She was happy about this as it sent out a message that if she can achieve her dreams, then anyone can.
