During this uncertain time, we will be adding any frequently asked questions for your information. If you have any questions, not addressed below please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Do I need to report my absence?

Yes. We still need to know if you are too unwell to complete work at home or have symptoms of Coronavirus (COVID-19). Please email info@greenbank.org.uk with your name and the reason why you are unable to complete work/log on and/or if you have any symptoms.

Should I be attending college?

In response to the Government’s advice on social distancing, we discourage students to attend college if you are able to stay at home safely.

We will still provide an educational service to those who fall in the vulnerable category/ have an EHCP or are critical to the Covid-19 response as outlined by the Government or cannot be safely cared for at home.

Can I still apply for a course starting in September 2020?

we are continuing to accept applications for courses starting in September 2020. Applications can be submitted using the form available on our website at www.greenbankcollege.org.uk/apply

If you are unable to access the application form online, a paper copy can be sent out.

For the foreseeable future we will not be conducting face-to-face interviews and assessments or offering taster days but we will be in touch with you as soon as government advice changes.

I have an EHCP, what will happen about my annual review? 

We are currently looking at alternative methods in which these could be conducted and will update once we know more. 

Will I still have access to advice and support?

Yes. Staff are available to support you at this time. You will be able to contact your tutor by email about any college work issues.

We are also currently working on access to learning support remotely.

Will I still receive free college meals?

We will will be posting out a £10 supermarket voucher next week (w/c 30/3/20) to those who usually receive free college meals. From w/c 20/4/20 we will send out £20 vouchers to cover a 2 week period.

How do I continue my work at home?

We will be supporting students who are not attending college to study at home. This will be in the form of online learning using Google Classroom. If you have difficulty with accessing online learning, we will make arrangements to send out paper based resources. Please let us know if you will have any issues accessing online resources. Study materials will be chosen to ensure that you stay on track to gain your qualification.

Your tutor will send you information by email so please ensure that you check it regularly.

You will be able to contact your tutor directly using your College email address in Gmail. Your tutor will contact you with their details.

What happens if I have a Safeguarding concern?

Safeguarding our students is still of great importance to us. If you have a safeguarding concern please contact the Catherine catherine.elliott@greenbank.org.uk or Lisa lisa.turner@greenbank.org.uk who will get back to you as soon as possible.

We will be answering enquiries by email during usual college hours 9am – 5pm 

If you have concerns outside of these hours please email or leave a voicemail on 0151 733 7255 and a member of the team will get back to you as soon as possible.

How long will I need to learn at home?

We are uncertain how long you will have to learn at home. We are closely following advice from Government and Public Health England. We will update as and when we have further information.

I have a work placement or on a Supported Internship, will this still be going ahead?

We have suspended all work placements and Supported Internships as a precaution to safeguard learners.

You should continue your usual College work at home using the guidance above.

Is Salon HQ and the Academy open?

We have temporarily closed Salon HQ and the Academy. The welfare and safeguarding of students and customers is important to us.
