Painting of Jack Hunter Spivey by Greenbank College student

Portrait of Jack Hunter-Spivey

Our students were challenged to be inspired by Rio 2016 and identify the Olympian or Paralympian who impressed them the most. That was the easy part – they then had to paint them!!

The resulting works of art are now on public display at Time Out Café, Greenbank Sports Academy until the end of the Paralympics on 18th September:

David Wetherill – Paralympian – Table Tennis (GB)

Abdi Jama – Paralympian – Wheelchair Basketball (GB)

Walid Ktila – Paralympian – Wheelchair Racing (Tunisia)

Usain Bolt – Olympian – Sprint racing(Jamaica)

Roy Turnham – Paralympian – Blind Football (GB)

Ellie Simmonds – Paralympian – Swimming (GB)

Jack Hunter-Spivey – Paralympian – Table Tennis (GB)

Tutor Lindsey Kinsella, who led the project said:

“It’s been a great way for our students to find out more about the athletes involved with the games and generate interest in this fabulous sporting event.”
