The Toxteth Community Reporters’ project is run by Toxteth TV, which is a not-for-profit company.

The Toxteth community reporters are a group of unique, creative and dedicated folk from all around Merseyside who make media FOR the community.

The project is all about providing local people with the skills and means to share their stories and giving them a platform on which they can do this. Toxteth TV trains their reporters on all aspects of media reporting, from how to use cameras and edit footage, through to blogging reports. All the equipment they use is accessible to anyone – even those with no previous media production experience!

The Institute of Community Reporters accredits their projects, so that all of their trainees get a community reporter badge and certificate.

Currently Greenbank College students are receiving training in media and community reporting. This will equip them with the skills and knowledge to write their own blog and reports for the Greenbank College website. The project takes places on every Thursday afternoon at Greenbank College.
