This week the Pass It On Community reporters have been looking at photography and how it can be used in community reporting. The group started by exploring some ‘Top Tips’ to get great photographs…everything from “filing-the-frame” to showing things from different “perspectives”.

Working in three small groups, the team then put these new skills and knowledge to work and went out and about, around Greenbank College snapping away at some of the enrichment activities on offer to students. One group took images of some sporting activities, and another visited an art class who were making mosaics. The third group visited some emerging ukulele superstars and took some great photos of the budding musicians in action. Check out the behind-the-scenes photos below…

After the photography task, Saarah (a trainee reporter) commented that the task “was hard at first, but I got better and with more practice it will become easier“. That’s the spirit Saarah! It’s going to be great to see what the reporters can achieve on this course. The reporters will be blogging their photo reports next week…before tackling audio reporting!
