Well done to our Sewing students for raising £130 for The Walton Centre for Neurology and Neurosurgery through a cake and craft sale. Particular thanks to Gwenda Breen for making many of the Christmas craft items on sale at the event.
A further £27 was raised for Marie Curie Liverpool by asking people for a donation instead of sending Christmas Cards. Any unsold craft items will by sold at The Old Swan shop to raise further funds for Marie Curie.
Tutor Colette Dwyer said “As a department we think it’s important to help others and the good causes that we fund raise for are always chosen by our students – usually there is a personal connection. The Walton Centre was chosen by Kathryn Dyer and Cathy Carroll because of the help given to Cathy’s son, Neil.
It is fantastic to have the support of the College community and people are always very generous”.
