This is a Skills Builder course which is designed to help develop your confidence to enable you to move onto an accredited course as well as independence, confidence and skills for daily living.

Course content

Learn about transferrable skills needed for future courses and employment. The course is aimed at students who are not sure about future choices but who would like to make a difference to their local community and try different skills such as painting, litterpicking, recycling and maintaining park information boards.

Who is the course for?

  • People aged 16 – 18
  • People aged up to 24 who declare a disability and have an EHC Plan

Entry requirements

  • Willingness to work outdoors
  • Able to participate in some physical activity
  • Able to follow instructions


Progression to an accredited qualification at Entry 3 Level in terms 2 and 3.

When is the course run?

September 2019

Study Programme

If you are aged 16 – 18 or up to 24 who declare a disability and have an EHC Plan, this course will form part of your study programme. The programme also includes English and maths qualifications, employability skills, a work placement and other personal development and enrichment opportunities.

Course fees

Courses are free for all students aged 16 – 18 (or up to 24 if you declare a disability and have an Education, Health & Care Plan).
