We recognise the achievements of our students through an end of year awards ceremony. There are fourteen award categories and winners are nominated by their tutor.  Every nominee receives a certificate and £20 gift voucher. An overall Greenbank College Student of the Year is then chosen, from the departmental winners, by a panel.

The Pass It On Community Reporters recently interviewed students who will receive a departmental award at the ceremony held on Friday 10th July.

They interviewed Daniel Harvey, Customer Service award winner, about his experiences on his course and how he felt about being nominated.

They also interviewed Daniel Fawcett who won an award for his achievements whilst on work placement. He tells us about his role at Alder Hey Hospital.

Finally, they interviewed hairdressing student Lyn Wilkinson to capture her thoughts about her experiences at Greenbank College and on winning her department’s award.

Gardening winner John Bowman told us that he enjoys working outdoors and likes the teamwork in his department. His course has helped him to build his confidence and he is very happy to have been chosen as that department’s student of the year.

Other students who have won awards are: James Morrow (Business Administration) Jai Fernandez (Catering) Joe Anderson (Employability and Work Placement) Andrew O-Briend-Settle (Functional Skills – English) Fatou Coker Manneh (Functional Skills – Maths) Carol Somerset (Health and Social Care) Arleen Cullen (Information Technology) Tanya Kealy (Sewing and Textiles) Curtis Argent (Sport – Vocational) Ibraheem Awad (Sport – FD).

Well done to all of our winners and all the students at Greenbank College who have achieved so much this year.

We look forward to celebrating your achievements at the Awards Ceremony.
