Supported Interns celebrated successfully completing their internships at a graduation ceremony on Friday 9 July at Kent Lodge, Broadgreen Hospital. The event was much smaller than originally planned, but they still managed to celebrate their achievements in style. Graduating interns were each presented with a certificate and given a sash and mortar board to wear.

Anne Kinsella, Special Project Manager at Greenbank College commented: “All the interns have worked incredibly hard throughout the year and we are immensely proud of them all. I also want to say a huge thank you to everyone at Liverpool University Hospitals Foundation Trust (LUHFT) and Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital and all their staff for their support of the young people in what has been a most difficult year.”
We spoke to a few of the interns about how it has made a difference to them:
Ift said:
“When I first started, I was shy and nervous. Throughout the programme, I’ve gradually acquired confidence and self-belief. I’m so glad I done it. Everyone is so supportive, we were like a team, a family. I wouldn’t be the person I am today if it wasn’t for these guys.”
Adam said:
“It’s been fun. I enjoyed meeting new friends.”
Daniel said:
“I was very insecure and self-critical and this programme has completely changed me. I’ve come out of my shell and I’m initiating conversation, both of which had been barriers for me in the past.”
Greenbank College would like to wish all the graduating interns great success in the future.
