National Careers Week (NCW) is a celebration of careers guidance and free resources in education across the UK. The aim is to provide a focus for careers guidance activity at an important stage in the academic calendar to help support young people leaving education.*

We are supporting the week by bringing our students together to meet with local employers, voluntary sector providers and support agencies to find out what opportunities and help are available as they move towards employment.

Thanks to our guidance and employment staff for organising the week’s programme which includes speakers from Addaction, the National Health Service, Santander, Sainsbury’s, Home Instead, Springboard, DaDaFest, Citizens Advice Bureau, Compass Corporate Events and Everton in the Community.

Employability Tutor Jane Bentley said;

“The week is really important as it gives us a focus to get across to our students the skills employers expect job seekers to have and how to make their CV stand out from the rest.

We really appreciate the time that all of our speakers are giving to share this important information with our students.”

Ashley McCoy Digital Marketing Specialist for Home Instead commented;

“It’s a great opportunity to get out into the community and share useful information about what you need to know to get into work.”
