A State-of-the-Art Hospitality Training Facility
Before the pandemic, Greenbank College created an on-site mini hotel or visitor economy complex on its Greeenbank Sports Academy site. The objective was to build a hospitality training facility focusing on the delivery of a visitor economy curriculum alongside a real-work environment where students can improve their work-readiness skills through improved interaction with visitors to the City Region.
The centre not only enables Greenbank students to gain skills, qualifications and vital work experience, but also improves their confidence and prepares them before progressing onto a work placement, traineeship, supported internship or employment.
The complex named the Kinsella suite comprises:
- four double en-suite training bedrooms with wheelchair access
- the Brunswick Conference Room: can seat up to 50 delegates, has a large multimedia screen for presentations and a kitchen
- the Smithdown Room can seat up to 25 delegates and has a screen which can be connected to a computer or laptop
- a serviced reception area
- a laundry facility
- a separate office
- four wheelchair-accessible toilet facilities
How do students learn industry skills?
Our students operate out of the reception area to provide front-of-house hospitality services, from taking bookings to greeting visitors and learning how to plan corporate events. This helps the college develop its offer and expand capacity to meet employer demand for visitor economy skills.
Can I book the facility for an event?
We welcome booking requests from individuals and companies alike to hire our conference facilities and/or our on-site accommodation.
