What is bullying?
by Hayley Trowbridge - Monday, November 25th, 2013This post is in: Community Reporters
Bullying affects lots of people and can have a negative impact on people’s lives. Although there is not a legal definition of bullying, it is generally understood to be a repeated behaviour that is done to hurt someone either emotionally or physically.
This can include:
- physical assault
- teasing
- making threats
- name calling
- cyber bullying
Bullying can take place anywhere. For example, it can take place in schools, colleges, the workplace or on the street. It is important that our society and communities work together to challenge and stop bullying, and support people who may be the victims of bullying.
