Student of the Year 2009/10

Congratulations to all of our students for a successful year at Greenbank. The following students were nominated as departmental award winners for this year:

The Student of the Year Awards took place on Friday 16 July. Guests included, The Lord Mayor, The Young Lord Mayor, Cllr John Prince, Alan Irving (Greenbank Chairman), Alison Wood (Mace & Jones), Nikki Cooney (Mersey Cabs), Lawrence Tierney (Greenbank Sports Academy).

James Crowe was chosen as the overall Student of the Year and Jean Adams as the Young Student of the Year.

Improve your computer skills

Drop in to see us this summer to develop your computer and online skills on the following free courses for adults. Choose from:

Online Basics – Covering keyboard, mouse, email, safety and searching (Google etc).

Online Services – Covering online shopping, public services and banking.

Online Jobs – Covering job hunting and jobs and interviews.

Call in between 9am – 12noon on Mondays, Tuesdays or Thursdays to complete the course.

Sessions available throughout the summer.

Greenbank College is pleased to launch its new website, which makes it easier for visitors to find information about courses and services on offer.We are expecting a few teething problems and would appreciate your comments and feedback using the comments box below about the new site including any errors that you find – thank you for your patience.

Taster Sessions

Why not come along to a fun taster session (or more than 1 if you like) to find out more about what classes at Greenbank College are like?

  • Places must be booked in advance
  • Sessions will only go ahead if a minimum of 6 people have booked to take part
  • Places limited to 10 per session

Sessions are particularly suitable for young learners aged between 14 and 25:

Mon 8 March

  • Sewing – 10.30-12 noon
  • Who wants to be a millionaire (Business Admin) – 10.30-11.30am
  • Have a go Paralympic sport – 11-12noon

Tue 9 March

  • Simple printing techniques – 10.30-11.30am
  • Fun English (Five senses with scent) – 9.30-10.30am
  • Sewing – 1-3pm
  • Google maps – 1-2.30pm

Wed 10 March

  • Simple printing techniques – 10.15-11.15am
  • Customer Service bingo – 2-3pm
  • Cards and computers – 2-3pm

Thurs 11 March

  • Getting started on the jobs ladder – 9.30-10.30am
  • Making puff pastry – 10.30am-12noon
  • Running your own business – 1-2.30pm

Fri 12 March

  • Making swiss rolls – 10.30am-12noon
  • Co-operative games for all – 11am-12noon
