The Level 3 hairdressing course will teach you advance elements that are required to help you become a hair stylist so that you can progress to further levels or employment within the hairdressing industry. Training takes place in our on-site salon, Salon HQ which will give your the opportunity to gain valuable work experience whilst you learn.
What will I study?
- Monitor and maintain health and safety practice in the salon
- Hairdressing consultation support for colleagues
- Cut women’s hair to create a variety of looks
- Style and dress hair using a variety of techniques
- Colour hair to create a variety of looks
- Creative hairdressing design skills
- Perm hair to create a variety of looks
- Colour correction
Who is the course for?
- People aged 16 – 18
- 19+
What are the entry requirements?
- Up to five GCSEs grades A*-C or an equivalent qualification at Level 2
- Personal commitment and the ability to work as part of a team
- Working towards or have achieved Level 2 in English and maths
- Gained a qualification in Level 2 Hairdressing
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed throughout the course to check on your progress in a variety of ways. This includes observations, oral questions and online tests.
What could I progress to?
After you have achieved the Level 3 Hairdressing qualification, you could progress to:
- Apprenticeship
- Foundation Degree
- Higher Degree
- Employment

What is a Study Programme?
If you are aged 16 – 18 or up to 24, declare a disability and have an EHC Plan this course will form part of your study programme.

How much will the course cost?
Courses are free for all students aged 16 – 18 (or up to 24 for those who declare a disability and have an EHC Plan).
